ACM-CDU

Liquid Cooling Temperature Control Unit

ACM-CDU

The liquid cooling CDU equipment is composed of a plate heat exchanger, secondary solution pump with variable-frequency control, regulating electric valve, expansion tank, frame and pipelines. It provides temperature control, flow control and integrated system control. The system uses a standard cabinet frame with stainless steel pipelines.

ParameterSource description
ComponentsPlate heat exchanger, variable-frequency secondary solution pump, regulating electric valve, expansion tank, frame and pipelines
FunctionsTemperature control, flow control and integrated system control
Cabinet constructionStandard cabinet frame; stainless-steel pipelines
Recommended exchanger / pump arrangementSingle plate heat exchanger and single pump
Common secondary supply temperature≤40°C
Single-unit capacity discussion120–300 kW, dependent on log mean heat-transfer and supply / return temperature differences
Custom cabinet dimensions (mm)800 × 1200 × 2000; 1000 × 1200 × 2000; other sizes
Theoretical primary / secondary heat-transfer differenceWithin 2°C
Secondary circulation pumpTypically one, all stainless steel, variable frequency
Plate heat exchangerStainless steel; common heat-transfer difference 5–8°C affects equipment dimensions
Secondary fluidTypically deionized water, ethylene glycol aqueous solution or propylene glycol aqueous solution
Common secondary fluid temperature difference10°C; permits a smaller pump and lower power consumption
Secondary available pressureTypically 100 kPa reserved; linked to server internal pressure drop

Reference conditions & selection notes

  • Heat-transfer capacities are approximate source values at stated temperature differences. The 120–300 kW range is not a single unconditional rating.
  • The stated 2°C heat-transfer difference is theoretical; the same source gives a common plate-exchanger difference of 5–8°C.
  • Slide 25 states PUE ≤1.13 for the illustrated ACM system including CDU, MDU and secondary loop network. It is a system claim without a defined climate or load test, not an individual CDU rating.
