Liquid Cooling Temperature Control Unit
ACM-CDU
The liquid cooling CDU equipment is composed of a plate heat exchanger, secondary solution pump with variable-frequency control, regulating electric valve, expansion tank, frame and pipelines. It provides temperature control, flow control and integrated system control. The system uses a standard cabinet frame with stainless steel pipelines.

| Parameter | Source description |
|---|---|
| Components | Plate heat exchanger, variable-frequency secondary solution pump, regulating electric valve, expansion tank, frame and pipelines |
| Functions | Temperature control, flow control and integrated system control |
| Cabinet construction | Standard cabinet frame; stainless-steel pipelines |
| Recommended exchanger / pump arrangement | Single plate heat exchanger and single pump |
| Common secondary supply temperature | ≤40°C |
| Single-unit capacity discussion | 120–300 kW, dependent on log mean heat-transfer and supply / return temperature differences |
| Custom cabinet dimensions (mm) | 800 × 1200 × 2000; 1000 × 1200 × 2000; other sizes |
| Theoretical primary / secondary heat-transfer difference | Within 2°C |
| Secondary circulation pump | Typically one, all stainless steel, variable frequency |
| Plate heat exchanger | Stainless steel; common heat-transfer difference 5–8°C affects equipment dimensions |
| Secondary fluid | Typically deionized water, ethylene glycol aqueous solution or propylene glycol aqueous solution |
| Common secondary fluid temperature difference | 10°C; permits a smaller pump and lower power consumption |
| Secondary available pressure | Typically 100 kPa reserved; linked to server internal pressure drop |
Reference conditions & selection notes
- Heat-transfer capacities are approximate source values at stated temperature differences. The 120–300 kW range is not a single unconditional rating.
- The stated 2°C heat-transfer difference is theoretical; the same source gives a common plate-exchanger difference of 5–8°C.
- Slide 25 states PUE ≤1.13 for the illustrated ACM system including CDU, MDU and secondary loop network. It is a system claim without a defined climate or load test, not an individual CDU rating.
